FOLIO 01 — WHY THIS LEDGER

What This Office Offers
That Others Do Not

There is no other office in Perak whose sole work is helping families bring order to inherited papers — without interpreting, valuing, or advising on them.

FOLIO 02 — WHAT FAMILIES FIND HERE

Six Things This Office Does Well

Stated Scope, Before You Begin

Every engagement names in writing what is produced, what is retained, and what lies outside the work. Families read this before they sign. Nothing is left to be discovered later.

Practitioners with Relevant Backgrounds

The team holds professional experience in records management, archival practice, and document control — not general administration. This work draws on a specific body of knowledge.

Oral History as a Formal Deliverable

The provenance of a document often lives in the memory of a person, not in the document itself. We make that memory a formal part of the record — audio, transcript, and item-level provenance notes.

Institutional-Scale Process for Smaller Bodies

The published archival standards that govern national repositories are applicable to clan associations, wakaf bodies, and family offices. We make those standards accessible and practical at that scale.

A Clear Referral When the Work Ends

Clients leave with a directory of the professional categories — solicitors, notaries, valuers — that answer the questions outside our scope. Knowing where to go next is part of the value of the orientation.

No Originals Retained

Nothing is kept from a family's collection beyond the engagement period. Every working copy is returned or destroyed as agreed. Families hold their own papers at every stage.

FOLIO 03 — IN DEPTH

Expertise Grounded in Practice

The founder spent ten years working in records management for a federal land authority. The oral history interviewer has conducted more than two hundred recorded sessions. The institutional consultant comes from law firm and wakaf administration document control. This is not general office experience applied to a niche — it is a niche that the team has worked in for the whole of their careers.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

You are not explaining what an inventory is — the team already knows, and will adapt to what you have.

Archival standards cited in institutional assessments are named by edition and consulted directly, not summarised from a general overview.

The oral history interviewer knows how to hold a session with an elder without losing what matters to the family.

Recording as Preservation, Not Performance

The oral history engagement is not a documentary project. It is a structured conversation whose purpose is to attach provenance information to the objects, photographs, and papers in a household's collection. The interviewer sits alongside the elder and records what is said about each item — who made it, who held it before, what was known about its origin. That record accompanies the item in the catalogue, where it remains for the family members who come next.

EDITORIAL CONTROL REMAINS WITH THE FAMILY

Any passage may be removed before final delivery — no explanation required.

Nothing recorded is shared, published, or forwarded without written consent.

Sessions are scheduled at the family's pace — not compressed into a single visit.

Prices Published in Advance

All three engagements carry a fixed price, stated publicly. There are no hourly extensions, no add-on charges for standard deliverables, and no fee variations based on the complexity of what a family is holding. The price you read on the solutions page is the price you pay. Where an engagement falls outside a fixed scope, that is discussed and agreed in writing before any additional work begins.

FOLIO 05 — WHAT ONLY WE CARRY

Distinctive Features of This Practice

The Record Panel

Every service listing carries a record panel naming exactly what is produced, what is retained at the close of the engagement, and what is destroyed. This panel is not a footnote — it appears beside the service description so families read it before they enquire.

The Handling Statement in Full

Rather than linking to a separate document, the signed handling statement is reproduced in full within the engagement agreement. Families are not asked to follow a link to read what they are signing.

A Printed Professional Directory

Orientation clients receive a printed directory of the public bodies and professional categories — including solicitors, notaries, and estate administrators — whose work lies adjacent to the orientation but outside this office. This directory is updated quarterly.

A Six-Month Review Included in Institutional Consulting

The institutional engagement does not end at the final training day. A structured review at six months assesses whether the processes introduced have held in practice, and recommends adjustments where they have not.
